Church of the Cross is a growing community of faith where Jesus Christ changes lives.
We welcome the Holy Spirit so all will discover their God-given gifts and delight in sharing the love of Christ in the community and the world. Grace so pervades the atmosphere of the church that questions, doubts and fears can be honestly expressed and every person is loved, respected, nurtured and celebrated.
World of Love Celebrates 50 Years!
World of Love Sunday, September 24
Combined Worship at 10am
Fifty years ago our World of Love Learning Center and Infant Care was founded by Church of the Cross Evangelical United Brethren in September of 1967. The original name was The Beavertown Nursery School. The Beavertown Nursery School began as a preschool for four and five year olds. Now World of Love has expanded to offer care from infants to schoolagers.
On September 24th we will have a combined worship service at 10am to celebrate fifty years of World of Love. This promises to be a wonderful worship experience that will highlight the sacred work of caring for children. If you have pictures from your days as a student, teacher, or volunteer at World of Love, would you please consider sharing them? Bring or mail the best ones to our church office. We hope to make a slide show. Carefully mark your pictures on the back so we can return them. If you know of someone who needs to be invited, let the church office know. We plan to invite and involve as many as possible. We hope to have a children’s choir that will sing songs from World of Love Chapel for the congregation, testimonies, recognitions, and a World of Love Open House to follow worship. We will have a special commemorative bulletin featuring our history. There will be more to come in our September eReporter, but for now, save the date for worship on September 24 and remember there will be just one worship service at 10am!
If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please contact Becky Johnson at 937-293-5217 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.

I asked my daughter Rebekah what great things God had done for her. She immediately recalled an event from her childhood. She was on a small motorbike behind my parents’ home, lost control of it, went straight down a steep hill, and crashed directly into the brick wall of the house. Read more
